Presented by FPL Food, and inspired by the Jimmy Fallon Show and of course, LL Cool J, the 4th Annual Fake It to Make It lip sync challenge was successful and fun for all! We are so grateful to our contestants who worked tirelessly to prepare quality entertainment for our sold-out audience at the Miller Theater, as well as raise $10,000 EACH for our mission.
Mike Montarbo of Evans Fitness Club took home the prized TOP FUNDRAISER belt with a total fundraising amount of $51,812.67 - which is the most money raised by a single contestant all four years of the event! And Katie Hardy of Katie O Hardy Photography took home the prized LIP SYNC CHAMPION belt as she and her teammates (Kat Price, Kate Sanders, Jason Brewer and Kent Oglesby) wowed the audience with an incredible Michael Jackson performance, followed up with none other than a Bruno Mars act.
Ryan Abel was the runner up and our other contestants, Aaron Fearneyhough, Bryan Axelson and Kevin Lack gave a competitive performance and fundraising strategy as well! We were also honored to have former reigning champion, Joe Edge and his team back again to open the show, and of course Matt Watson from Ballroom in Motion with dance partner, Angela Ewart.
Thank you to our emcees, Kim Bailey and Fenway from HD98.3. Thank you to our judges, Richmond County Marshal Ramone Lamkin, Burke County Sheriff Alfonzo Williams, and Richmond County Sheriff's Office Captain Scott Gay. Thank you to our scrutineer, David McDaniel of Morgan Stanley.
Thank you to all of our event sponsors and vendors, and everyone who donated towards a contestants' fundraising goal and volunteered or attended the show! Together we raised more than $162,000 to transform victims of domestic violence into survivors!
