October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Join us at one of the following events, wear your PURPLE, and help us bring much-needed attention to this cause.

Purple Light Nights

Tuesday, October 6, 2015
6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.
At the "Teardrop" in the center of Augusta University's Summerville Campus

Put on your purple to kick off National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Enjoy light refreshments as we welcome Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr. and learn from the powerful testimony of survivor Valerie L. Williams, author of ?God?s Divine Intervention.? Books available for purchase and signing. Open to the public Sponsored by the GRU Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs and the Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Social Work. Open to the public.

Survivor's Walk

At the "Teardrop" in the center of Augusta University's Summerville Campus

This annual ceremony features testimonies from domestic violence survivors and a purple balloon release, and candlelight walk. This is open to the public and we encourage you to wear purple to show your support.

Yoga

Every Saturday in October

Space Yoga Studio, 1403 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904

There is never a fee to participate or take a class at Space Yoga Studio, however a suggested donation of $5 is encouraged. During the month of October, donations from the Saturday morning class will be given to SafeHomes. We hope to see you there! All skill levels are welcome!
